Every woman experiences the period around menopause. The period leading up to it, the perimenopause (which can last 5-10 years), is often one of tangible transition and change. A variety of vague and/or significant discomforts can arise during this time, which can be difficult to interpret, relate to, and manage in relation to your environment. Today, we want to reflect on what exactly is happening in your body and how it affects your life, in different ways for everyone.
We'll share what we know, and if you'd like, you'll contribute what you've discovered along the way. We'll share how we can support ourselves and each other, what this period means to you, and how you experience your place in the world. We're not looking to fix anything during this day, but rather to explore what can bring solace and relief, and that's a personal journey.
We'll discuss the changes you're experiencing—physically, mentally, and emotionally. We'll also offer exercises, recipes, tools, and insights from our own experiences. We'll do this based on our own process, our own questions, and experiences, always with respect, care, and a sense of humor.
We work with, among other things, inquiry, movement exercises, meditation, and a centering exercise. We also offer tools to relax the nervous system (for home use) and ways to slow your breathing.
The program is accessible and structured with a sense of calm and lightness. You can take away from this session what resonates with you and discover what works for you in your own way in the time afterward.
During this day we offer a lovingly prepared vegetarian/vegan lunch, with ingredients that can support your body during the changes during this transition.
